Punter’s(Ponting) greatest humiliation of his career

Ricky Ponting faced one of the worst difficult times of his career due to criticism. The shattering 2-0 defeat against the Indians crushed his captaincy image. He was criticised for his slow over rate & his rely on part time bowlers in emergency times which proved a great fuss and led to the Australian downfall. The Indians totally outplayed Oz’s, Ponting’s men could only watch the Indian players crush them under their own eyes, taking away the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

“To tell you the truth I’m a little bit disappointed with some of the criticism, particularly from former Australia captains and Cricket Australia board members,” Ponting said.

“The thing I’m most disappointed about is there seems to be this inference out there that I’ve put myself totally ahead of the team,” he said.

“Anybody that knows me, or knows the way I play my cricket or operate around the Australian team, or any team, would hopefully not say that’s the case.
